Buckle your seat belts folks cause this one’s about to get CrAzY!

I’m willing to bet that most of you have heard of the Terminator series, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of our generation have no clue as to what the sci-fi film behind the catch phrases “I’ll be BAAAaaaccckkk” or “Hasta la vista, baby” is all about.  If you have yet to catch a Terminator movie before Terminator Salvation opens tomorrow, don’t fret kiddies, 'cause I’m here to help! Get schooled...

What to expect in the new Star Trek

"Beam me up, Scotty!"

If you are anything like me, then you will be one of the first in line tonight, sipping on your Icee and munching on your popcorn, awaiting for the clock to strike 7 so that you can enter the theatre to see one of the first showings of the new Star Trek.  I've eagerly awaited the release of this film since seeing the teaser trailer well over a year ago and I gotta say, I am pretty pumped to see what director J.J. Abrams (the man behind such projects as Lost and Alias) can come up with.

Hollywood always seems to be strapped for new, innovative story lines to reel in audiences for a big payoff.  Recently, however, they have reverted to past film franchises in order to boost their sales, bringing long-dormant cult classics to the big screen. This has yielded a great amount of success in the past few years in recharging such characters as Batman in The Dark Knight and James Bond in Casino Royale.  I'm sure Star Trek will be no different.  In fact, the technologies  and space travel in the new Star Trek will far surpass the phony technologies of the original series.  BECAUSE THEY LOOK REAL! 3-D imaging has certainly come a long way...

You wouldn't have seen that in the '60's, 70's, or 80's!

So now for the synopsis!

This new film starts at the beginning of the Star Trek story, telling how the crew of U.S.S. Enterprise met.  So don't be worried if you know nothing at all about Star Trek, all questions shall be answered.  Captain James T. Kirk (played by hottie Chris Pine) is an Iowa farm boy who uses his intuition to make snap decisions while his rival Spock (played by Sylar!...I mean Zachary Quinto from Heroes) is a logical Vulcan with no emotion and great power.  They must work together to save the Federation from the evil Romulan Nero (Eric Bana as a scary alien!?!).  Along the way,a hot romance buds between Kirk and Uhura (Zoe Saldana) and Spock is visited by his future self, played by the only original returning cast member Leonard Nimoy! Sounds A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

And let's not forget the supporting cast of newcomers! Montgomery Scott or "Scotty!" is played by Simon Pegg whom some of you may know from Hot Fuzz or Shaun of the Dead.  Leonard "Bones"  McCoy is played by Karl Urban, otherwise known as Eomer from Lord of the Rings.  John Cho (Harold of Harold and Kumar!) plays Hikaru Sulu and Anton Yelchin (THE Charlie Bartlett) plays Pavel Chekov. Recognize any of 'em?

To wrap everything up, I'd like to leave you with this advice. If you have yet to have catch Star Trek fever (a new strain of swine flu!) then I highly suggest you head over YouTube to check out the trailer of absolute awesomeness!  Gentlemen, this movie is so action packed it will blow your face off.  Ladies, who wouldn't want to watch Chris Pine running about in outer space?  That is all.  GO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

P.S.  A very logical, emotionless Vulcan once said, "Live long and prosper," and I believe if you see this film you will.
